New Year's Resolution {Linky}

I am linking up with First Grade Nest and A Peach for Teach for their New Year's Resolution Linky parties!!!

A Personal Goal

One of my personal goals is to be stronger in my faith.  I want to read my bible a more, pray a little harder, participate in more church activities.  I want to be sure that I am giving the best of myself to my faith and not just the minimum.

Another Personal Goal

I really need to work on saving more money.  I would definitely say that out of my husband and I, that I am the spender.  I need to work on being more frugal and not purchasing things that really are not a necessity.  This includes things for myself, my children, and my classroom.  I probably spend a small fortune on my classroom every year.  I never really keep up with it all probably out of fear seeing how much I actually do spend.

Another Personal Goal

I would love for our family to eat out less and work out more.  Don't get me wrong I do cook, probably more than a lot of people.  I would say on average we eat out about 3-4 meals a week.  Usually toward the weekend time frame.  I normally am good about cooking during the week but come Friday I am done.  Then I always find an excuse on Saturday and usually on Sundays we eat out after church.  I know that if we could cut some of those out it could help out with goal #2.  I would also like to work out more.  I am really bad about going through what I like to call "SPURTS".  This is where I work out a few weeks then stop for a few weeks, then work out for a few weeks … well you get the idea.  I really could stand to get a routine down.

Another Personal Goal

I would love to be able to build my blog and TpT following in 2014.   I hope I can keep my creative juices flowing.

A Professional Goal

I am already an organized person for the most part.  Then only thing that lacks organization in my classroom is my art supplies.  It is in baskets but it all mixed together.  I want to separate all my supplies by categories like all buttons in a group, all pipe cleaners in a group.

Another Professional Goal

Since this is my states first year using Common Core I would really like to go even more in depth and learn what it truly all about.

So there you have my goals for 2014!!!  I can't wait to read your goals for 2014.  Thanks for stopping by and taking a peek.  Be sure to link up.   I {heart} comments and followers!!

Thirteen for Thirteen {Linky}

Wow, how time flies!!!  It is so hard to believe that 2013 is coming to a close and a new chapter is about to begin!!!

{one}

I finally started this little ole' blog of mine after blog stalking many of you for several years.  This past summer was the one that I decided to get out there and try a few new things out.  I had contemplated starting a blog for a while but wasn't too sure how to go about out.  After spending about a month playing around {at times wanting to pull my hair out with trying to get it all set up} I finally started figuring some things out.  I have met some really awesome bloggers/teachers along the way and can't wait to meet many more.

{two}

Why just stop at a blog??? I decided to go ahead and go for a TpT shop as well.  It has done way better than I ever could imagine.   I never realized all the possibilities that my blog and TpT would bring me.  I can't wait to see what 2014 has in store for me.   I just hope I can keep my creative juices flowing.

{three}

This past year my family and I went on our first ever ski trip to Utah.   We had so much fun.   I have to say that my two kiddos were  naturals on snow skis.  We even thinking about going again this year!

{four}

Speaking of first trips:  I took my first ever girl trip to Las Vegas.   We had such a blast.  A group of friends and I went to Vegas just for the weekend.  It was just what I needed!

{five}

My favorite show for 2013 is the new sitcom The Goldbergs.   I am absolutely in love with it.  It so funny to me.  I can't wait for it come on every Tuesday.  It reminds me of my family growing up so much.  And since as I was a young kid of the 80's I can totally relate to all the memorabilia.

{six}

This one is not as big as a deal for me as it was for my oldest but she was finally old enough to try out for the dancing performing group at her dance school.   She made the team and was so excited.   She works really hard and practices all the time.  We now get to travel and do special performances.  So for her this was a big deal.

{seven}

My favorite movie for 2013 was This is 40!  Is was totally inappropriate on so many levels, but it was absolutely hilarious.  I stumbled across it one night on STARZ channel and I could not stop laughing.  It has and R rating for a reason but it is an an off beat funny comedy.  I was surprised that I liked it so much.

{eight}

My favorite article of clothing to wear for 2013 … ok for every year… is black slacks.   I really wouldn't say it is my favorite.  But it is what I wear a lot of.  I know we have all heard of the LBD {little black dress}, mine should be LBS {little black slacks}.  I literally own about 15 pairs.  I am not joking.  I will save you a picture.  I don't know why I keep buying them.  I guess I figure they can go with anything.  I really should try to brighten my wardrobe in 2014.

{nine}

I am stretching it here with clothing and making my number nine running shoes.  Every time I get on a workout kick, I think I need new running shoes.  Something about having new workout shoes seems to motivate me, even if it is only for a short period of time.  As a matter fact it is a little running joke at work.  Anytime someones sees me with new Nikes or New Balances they make a joke about me going to start hitting the gym again.  That's ok, I can take.  I will totally admit it, 2013 was not my best year for fitness.  I went through spurts where I would go and work out for a few weeks here and there and then slack for a few weeks {more slacking than working}.  Here is hoping that 2014 is better.

{ten}

My one word I pick for 2013 is FRIENDSHIP.  This reason why is picked this as my one word is because I have some of the best friendships with some of my coworkers.  They are like a second family to me.   Also I have met some really great friends through blogging.  I think everyone needs friends to help get them through everyday ups and downs. {Below is a picture of a few of my friends from work.  We are at a workshop together}!

{eleven}

One of my new favorite restaurants for 2013 is Panera Bread.  I can't get enough of their Clam Chowder soup.  We just recently  had one to open nearby so it is fairly new to me and I think it is pretty delicious.

{twelve} & {thirteen}

I saved my best for last!!!  I am combining my twelve and thirteen because it one of my big goals for 2014.  I really want to become stronger in my faith.  You might ask aren't you strong enough?   Well yes, I go to church, pray, and I am very strong in my faith and belief.  But what I mean is that I want to become stronger in my faith by doing little things like reading my bible more, not taking all that my church has to offer for granted, making sure that my children are participating in our church activities more.  I just want to make sure that I am truly giving and offering the best that I can be and not just the minimum.  Sometimes when life is so hectic it is easy to make excuses not to go and do things or to participate.  This is the one area I am going to really focus on not making excuses no matter how crazy tired I am or how hectic life is because I have found that this is when you need your faith the most!!

Thanks for stopping by and taking a peek!!!   I {heart} comments and followers!!

Five for Friday: Christmas Style

Saw this on Pinterest and loved it.  Reminds me what is truly important during this Christmas season!

A friend posted this on Facebook - SO TRUE!!!!

During our Christmas party we played a game where the kids had to dress each other up as a snowman.    How cute are they???

For parent Christmas gifts this year I had the kids use their thumb prints to make reindeer ornaments!!!  I am sure many of you did a similar type deal, it is so easy to do and really inexpensive.

I am so excited that I get the next two weeks off!  A much needed break.  With all the excitement the kids have had I was not sure how much more I could take.   I hope that each and everyone of you have a Merry Christmas this year!!!!

Google Apps ???

I was sitting in our faculty meeting the other day and one of the speakers mentioned "Google Apps".  I have heard a few people talk about Google Apps before but I never really knew there was a difference. When I usually buy an App I go through iTunes/Apple.   Is their a big difference between the two??  Also, I am wondering can you run Google Apps on and iPad or Mac Computer??

The reason I need your help with this is because the speaker said that we need to start getting ready to incorporate Google Apps into the classroom.   I know there are a ton of great Apps through Apple that can be used in the classroom.  Are Google Apps better or is it a matter of preference?  I asked a few coworkers but they were not to sure either.

If you can offer any insight into this, I would be so happy.  I would love to hear which do you prefer.

Thanks for stopping by and taking a peek.  I can't wait to find out what all the buzz is about!!

Five for Friday

It has been about 3 weeks since I last linked up with Five for Friday {too much going on}.  Plus I keep forgetting to take pictures.  Just trying to survive all the craziness that the holidays bring.

A friend of my posted this on Facebook.   Oh my goodness, this young girl's voice is unbelievable!  Her voice and this song are both so beautiful.  When I watch her sing I am mesmerized at how such a powerful voice can come out of a small child.

I am lovin' all the Christmas themed book reports that are starting to come.  I had the kids to pick their favorite Christmas story and write a kid friendly report about their book.  My class really loves to make crafts.  So this works out perfectly, a little creativity involved with a little academics.  This is from my TpT shop, Christmas Tree Themed Book Reports.

My own little cutie came home from school with both of her front teeth missing.  She is officially snaggletooth, but it is sure cute!!!

Many schools, including mine, has Disguise the Turkey for Thanksgiving.  However, my grade host Disguise the Snowman.  These are a few pics of the snowmen coming in from my students.  Some of them are really creative.

We recently had Book Character Dress Up Day at my school.  This is an event that the entire school participates in.  You might wonder why a lot of my photos of my class is always pics of girls.  Well, most of my class is girls {poor boys}.  I only have a hand full of boys in my class.  Believe me, there can be major drama with 7-8 year old girls {but I love em' anyways}.

As always thanks for stopping by and taking a peek!  I can't wait to read your Five for Friday.   I {heart} comments and followers!!
