Listening:
Oh, the joys of getting to stay in you pi’s a little longer and watch morning shows! I just love watching Live with Kelly and Michael. I think Kelly is so darn cute and full of personality. I would love to go visit New York one day and sit in on one of their shows.
Loving:
I love the new color of the year: radiant orchid. I feel a digital paper pack coming on very soon with all the different hues of purple.
Thinking:
I probably should have created a little more over my break. The only thing I finished was my Martin Luther King Jr. mini unit. I spent my first week off running around like a crazy person. This week I so far I have I been so lazy. Which is nice because I needed to regroup myself.
Wanting:
Christmas break to slow down and not to go by so fast. It feels like when we get a break is zooms by!
Needing:
Not a whole lot at the moment. The past few days have been very calm around my house {hope I am not jinxing myself}. The past three days have been pretty uneventful and everyone seems very content, just how I like it.
Traditions:
Today we will head over to my parents house and have our usual ring in the New Year Lunch/Dinner: Fried Chicken, Collard Greens, Black Eyed Peas, Mash Potatoes, & Corn Bread
I know your probably thinking: if your resolution is to “diet” this is not the way to start it off! But it is only one meal. This is the same meal that my mom has cooked for as long as I can remember every January 1st. Plus her fried chicken is to die for!!! This is what she told me each food means {old wives tales}: you eat greens to bring you money for the New Year and peas to bring you good luck for the New Year. The rest is just good for your soul. And let me remind you I am from the South and we love our fried chicken down here!!!
Ok, now on to Tara’s linky: My #1 for me this year is to save more money. I really want to work on not spending money on things that are not a necessity. I am really bad about buying things that I really don’t need. I get something because I like it or because it will look cute on the girls. I am going “try” my hardest to work on this. I really want to build my savings up. I have some money already in savings but it is not enough by no means.
I would also like to take a little more time for me as well. I am always running around or at least feel like I am. I always joke that I am like a taxi cab shuffling kids from point A to point B. I would like for myself to have a little more downtime.
Well, that is about it for me! Thanks for stopping by and taking a peek. Be sure to link up.

Jamie,
It's so funny your link is right before mine on Farley's Currently…your blog is the number one I gave Megan Favre for my redesign in 2014! It is precious, and I love it that, diet and all, you're still having black-eyed peas and collard greens. We are too – my mom won't let us get by without the greens for the dollars and the peas for the change in our pockets each year. Being from SC, we have to have our traditions!

Christmas break definitely goes by too fast. Luckily, I get three weeks off! I need to do nothing for a few days and just relax and finish my book.

I typed that exact same thing for needing- then I deleted it once I took a look at my apartment and realized it's a mess. But other than that, I too feel pretty content. What a lovely tradition- start the year off right with some great food and family. Enjoy, happy new year!

One of my goals is to spend less too!! I know if I made better spending choices, I'd actually have more money to buy the things I really want. Happy New Year!
